HAWAI‘I ISLAND
HAWKSBILL SEA TURTLE
HONU‘EA ALLIANCE
For the last thirty years, the Hawai‘i Island Hawksbill Project has been monitoring Hawai‘i Island’s southern coastline for hawksbill nesting activity and protecting critically endangered turtle nests. Because of these efforts, over 190 female hawksbill sea turtles have been observed and monitored, and thousands of hatchlings enter the ocean each year.
